How to Create a Live Class Session
Live Class lets you create and host webinars and interactive classrooms for real-time learning and collaboration. Follow these steps to schedule a session, configure its settings, share access links, and start the session.
Step 1: Create a Session
Go to 'Sessions' from your Live Class dashboard and click '+ Create Session'.
Step 2: Choose Session Type
Select the type of session you want to create:
Webinar: One-to-many broadcast where a host presents to an audience.
Classroom: Interactive session where hosts and attendees can participate.
Step 3: Add Session Details
Choose a 'Location' based on where most attendees are located, or select 'Automatic' to let Live Class choose the best available location.
Enter the 'Title' and a brief 'Description' for the session.
Step 4: Set Schedule
Select the 'Date', 'Time', and 'Timezone' for your session.
Enter the maximum number of 'Attendees' allowed for the session. Your plan determines the maximum number of attendees you can allow.
Step 5: Enable Tools
Select the tools you want to use during the session:
- Whiteboard:Collaborate using a shared drawing space.
- Documents:Display PDFs and slides.
- Screen Share:Share your screen.
- Polls:Create live audience polls.
- Breakout Rooms: Divide attendees into smaller groups.
Step 6: Configure Session Settings
Under 'Settings', configure the recording and backstage options.
Choose whether to enable Auto Recording:
- Off: The host can start recording manually.
- On: Recording starts automatically.
Select a 'Recording Type' and enable 'Backstage' to prevent attendees from joining until the host goes live.
Step 7: Set Access Options
Enable 'Collect attendee email' to ask attendees for their email address before joining. Add a 'Room password' if you want to restrict access to the session.
Step 8: Verify Attendance
Under 'Advanced Settings', enable 'Attendance Verification' to record auditable seat time and periodically verify attendee presence. Finally, review the session details and click 'Create Session'.
Step 9: Edit Session
After creating the session, use 'Copy attendee link' to share the session with attendees. Use 'Edit' if you need to make changes to the session before it starts.
Click 'Start Session' when you are ready to begin the live class.
Step 10: Share Session Links
You can also copy the 'Host / Co-teacher link' to share access with hosts or co-teachers.
Step 11: Start Session
When you click 'Start Session', You will enter the live session with the tools and settings you configured.
Your Live Class session is now scheduled and ready for attendees. You can manage upcoming, live, and past sessions from the Sessions page.
